Söke is a dull modern town at 20 km south-east from Kuşadası (Kusadasi, Kushadasi). It is mainly an agricultural center with cotton, grains and olives as the most produced crops. Fortunately, every Wednesday Söke livens up by its open-air market where people from the surrounding villages sell their fruits and vegetables and buy their own necessities. Many tourists from neighbouring Kusadasi consider the Söke market also as an interesting shopping opportunity. Textile is one of the main products on sale at the market.
