Once more we stayed at
Zekai's place in Özhan Pansiyon (Tel. +(90) 256 614 29 32 – 612 52 83, Dağ
Mah. Kibris Cad. No. 5). It was Zekai who
introduced us to Kusadasi's sparkling night life at La Maison (Old town, Şafak
Sokak No.19), an art shop during daytime but an exquisite Cafe des
Artistes at night.
The Öküz Mehmet Paşa Kervansaray is Kuşadası's most
prominent landmark. This ancient Ottoman caravanserai is now a hotel. The
cafeteria next to it, on the side of the pedestrianised Barbaros Hayrettin
Caddesi opposite the PTT, is the place in town to have a cold drink, ice
cream or snack. Also Harry's bar at the İnönü Bulvarı
No. 35
should be mentioned for its refreshing large Efes Beer, its English music and
Harry's excellent friendly
service. As he says: "For your own safety... Come and see for yourself".
